Hello again, it has been awhile since we upgraded the systems here at Upgrade Alley, a problem that should iron itself out as time goes on.
In this edition we are looking at a P35 based motherboard combo, we're still suggesting DDR2 for the time being though will likely move to DDR3 when the prices come down and other chipset mgs. (like nVidia) start releasing their own versions.
We struggled to make this edition reach the $2000.00 mark, which is not all bad; you see we're in a transition period in the hardware realm. The holidays are over and the current stock of equipment is growing long in the tooth. Things will likely change come June so until then enjoy our first quad core workstation build.

Manufacturer: DFI
We recently reviewed this motherboard from DFI and found it to be a very stable, with great performance and a great deal of overclocking headroom. Our only complaint is support for CrossFire over SLI, but you won't find us complaining.
This motherboard will also accept several different forms of cooling from the stock HSF to a custom watercooler.
Be sure to check out our review of this motherboard for more information.
