EPoX 8RDA+ nForce2 Review @ Hexus

"EPoX have maintained their trademark dark green shade of PCB on the 8RDA+. Unlike the recently reviewed ABIT offering, the EPoX still carries the 4 mounting holes around the CPU socket, thereby allowing you to use larger coolers for more effective cooling;"
The Hexus guys seem to like it even though it is quite bare when it comes to additional features.
"The EPoX 8RDA+ nForce2 has clearly been designed to appeal to those of us who simply want a motherboard based on the fastest Socket A chipset at a reasonable price. By not catering for RAID in any form, and not providing the additional S/PDFIF add-on card, it appears as if EPoX have sought to get a motherboard out to market quickly." -

"The card is a rather spiffy looking blue colour with the Hercules logo stamped on it. It's rather sparse looking, but that is certainly nothing out of the ordinary nowadays. It uses the C-Media 8738 chip which supports 6 channel output."
This card is definitely worth a look. -

"I didn't have any problems with placement of the two DIMM sockets. I was a bit disappointed that this motherboard only supported 1 GB or ram. I have four sticks of PC3200 but have not had need to have more than two sticks in each rig at this point"

Matrox Parhelia Review @ Beyond3D

"Naturally, where Matrox scores big is their usual haunt, which is of their display output. The 2D quality is very good on Parhelia, among the best I've personally seen. Also, if multi-monitor support is something that's important for you then Matrox has both the most flexibility in the display output options and exceptionally good multi-monitor configurations and software tools."
I have always been a fan of the Matrox display quality but I play games a little to often to put one of their cards in my system full time, regardless I would still buy one.

"However, the only gripe we had with the board is that it is a little too heavy on the storage side as it comes with support for up to 10 ATA devices. We would have preferred a little bit more balance and a FireWire controller would have been more appropriate."
Firewire would be a nice addition but only if you are a mac lova!

ABIT NF7-S nForce2 Motherboard @ Hexus

Now with the pending release of the newly upgraded nForce2 (creative name huh?) I think we might have something to look forward to.
"Why have I chosen dual-channel DDR266 over dual-channel DDR333 at 133FSB ?. The answer lies in the fact that we actually lose performance by running dual-channel DDR333 at 133FSB. The asynchronous memory speed provides more bandwidth than dual-channel DDR266, but latency is increased by having to account for the asynchronous memory and CPU FSB clocks. "
I wonder if the Intel solutions will have similar problems.
