World News Broken
Published: Monday, February 4, 2002 | By: DennisIt would appear that my worldnews source is now blocking my website from making any updates, so until further notice the worldnews section will be closed for repairs. It was fun while it lasted I guess

AMD preparing for Hammer release
Published: Friday, February 1, 2002 | By: DennisHere is some news via our very own World News with Ninjalane section.
In case you didn't know the AMD Hammer line are 64-bit processors directed towards servers and high-end workstations. Though much like the Itanium I wouldn't expect to see one in your desktop PC any time soon. Then again with code names like ClawHammer and SledgeHammer I think they will be in high demand. -
Inno3D Geforce 3 Ti-500 Tornado Review @ OcPrices
Published: Thursday, January 31, 2002 | By: DennisI've always liked Inno3D stuff; the price is comparable to the competitors and is made with the same if not better components. You can get a hint as to how well they do by reading this review. "268MHz on the Core and 600MHz on the memory"

VIA KT333, Why?
Published: Thursday, January 31, 2002 | By: DennisThis is getting kind of annoying; there is only room enough for one "Microsoft". By this I am speaking of Via and their "practice" of releasing a chipset then later releasing another similar chipset with a Fancy "A" at the end that increases performance. Kind of silly if you ask me but I'm sure there is a reason for it.
I'm going to quote Kyle of [H]ard|OCP for a moment on the issue of the KT333. "The fact of the matter is that the 266MHz bus of the Athlon is getting saturated beyond 266MHz memory bus unless the CPU bus scales with it." -
AOL Sux Once Again
Published: Thursday, January 31, 2002 | By: DennisActually AOL wasn't ever really that cool to begin with but I have to say they are doing well for all on the Net. Not only do they own Netscape and ICQ but also when you are a member they call you all the time saying "Hey you should buy more".
The latest news on the AOL front a heated battle of DOS to Trillian users out there by blocking access to the AIM network.
In a way if someone were using my toothbrush I'd get pissed too. -
P4 Chipset Shootout @ SLCentral
Published: Thursday, January 31, 2002 | By: DennisThere are quite a few choices when it comes to buying a P4 system and really these choices are driven by what chipset you decide to go with. If you need to know more about the different chipset solutions check out the link below.

Dual P4 or XEON Chipset from Via @ DDR Zone
Published: Tuesday, January 29, 2002 | By: DennisKnowing how Via likes to toy with trouble it was only a matter of time before they figured out how to build an SMP'able chipset for the P4 line of processors. This is actually some pretty good news for an SMP junkie like myself esp since they will be using DDR333 and the newer 533MHz FSB.
Yes, chances are this chipset will be "illegal" as well. -
Cover Them Boobies
Published: Tuesday, January 29, 2002 | By: DennisYa know being an artist I don't get offended by these sorts of things, though you know some person will be. So, I would tend to agree with the Justice Department.

Micron and Hynix break off acquisition talks
Published: Tuesday, January 29, 2002 | By: DennisMicron and Hynix have stopped talking about a merger and do not plan to revisit the subject any time soon. It would appear that neither company could agree on a price. I guess its time to call The Godfather
