ATI R200/R300 Roadmap Leaked
Published: Thursday, August 9, 2001 | By: DennisAccording to the roadmap the R200 or Radeon 2 is scheduled to ship in September along with a low-end version called the RV200. Not much has been said about the specs of these two chips except that the R200 will have 4 render pipelines and will support DirectX 8.1. The RV200 (not unlike your motor home) will only have 2 render pipes. It would seem that the RV200 part is based on the old Radeon core.

Fired for MP3s at Work
Published: Monday, August 6, 2001 | By: DennisIMHO, the crazy broad deserves it. 2000+ MP3s on your work machine? By my very unscientific calculations thats about 167 CDs worth of music. Hmm, somehow I don't think she converted them at work from her own collection. And somehow I don't think that roughly (again my calculations) 117 hours worth of MP3s were just for her personal use. Some Peer-to-Peer sharing going on there. Maybe the next NinjaLane poll should be on how many MP3s each of us has at work.

"Code Red" strikes again
Published: Monday, August 6, 2001 | By: DennisSomebody out there isn't playing nice; a new variant of the original "code red" is out infecting IIS servers across the globe.
Out of curiosity I checked the apache log on my Linux box the other night and found that there are many IIS machines on the @home network and quite a few of them are infected. Here is the recommendation on what do to if you think you are at risk. Download and run this program from Norton CRDetect.exe, if there is a problem. Update virus definitions and scan for CR Trojan.Patch IIS, and Reboot. -
Dell to Drop Linux from Home PC Line
Published: Sunday, August 5, 2001 | By: DennisIt is a very sad day for the Dell loving Linux users. I would appear that due to a lack of interest Dell is no longer going to offer Linux on its home line of PC's. That's is too bad, though then again it was only Red Hat.
