More on the MicroStar Board
Published: Wednesday, September 20, 2000 | By: Dennis2CPU.com finally got around to posting a review of the hot new dual board from MicroStar.
I'm still in the planning stages of my new system but one thing is for sure, this board is going to be a part of it.
Unfortunally I am still at odds as to what processor I should go with. should I go 733? or 750? -
Build your own case
Published: Thursday, September 7, 2000 | By: DennisThis link is all over the hardware sites today. figured I needed to post it too.
Personally I've always thought of building my own computer case but without the fancy plastic covers it would never seem completed. -
The next cool Motherboard - MSI 6321
Published: Tuesday, September 5, 2000 | By: DennisBeing a dual processor kind of guy I try to keep up on the new motherboards out there that support SMP.
MSI has released a new board and from what I've read it might be the perfect board for my next computer upgrade. It comes in 3 versions, all with onboard audio and two with ATA100 support with the topend version having onboard ATA100 +Raid.
For the overclockers out there this board supports FSB's from 66 to 200mhz with offical support for 66,100,133. Its been rumored that dual 700's will easily go to 1gig on this board. -
URLs are not owned
Published: Monday, August 28, 2000 | By: DennisSaw this over at Ars today. Pretty interesting to say the least.
I always thought the security measures that network solutions had on URL's and their ownership was really that tough, though considering that for some its their bread and butter this issue should be taken quite seriously. -
Quake Server Stats
Published: Monday, August 28, 2000 | By: DennisHad some great games this weekend and figured I could finally share. follow the link below to see the current standings.
This is the first installment of server stats and spans well beyond the last weekend. Believe it or not even with my many wins and high frag count I am still only ranked 8. -
Illegal Tee-Shirt
Published: Tuesday, August 15, 2000 | By: DennisThis is bad ass. The geniuses who figured out how to crack encryption on DVD's (A little Program called DeCSS) are in legal battle with the MPAA. Anyhoo, these guys at www.copyleft.com made a T-Shirt that has a little anti-DVD CCA symbol on the front and the Open Source for DeCSS on the back. The MPAA is now suing them for distributing the information...
Needless to say I am placing an order for one right now. -
Computer Camps
Published: Friday, August 11, 2000 | By: DennisI saw this post while checking up on my stock. (online stock quotes are cool) Anyhow it talks about summer camps where the kids sit at computers all day and learn how to build webpages and even build robots.
I got a kick out of the outside opinion section here is a quote (out of context) "How important is learning computer programming for a 7-year-old?". Now ask yourself, How important was learning to play the piano?, and of those people that actually enjoyed playing are making money doing it??
Check out the post its pretty cool, wish I had a camp like that when I was a kid. -

Star Wars Baby!
Published: Wednesday, July 26, 2000 | By: DennisBioware and those hosers at LucasArts are building a single player CRPG based on the Star Wars universe a few Millenia before Luke and the gang.
With this and their partnership with Verant to build a MMORPG (Set in the time when the Jedi's were wiped out) looks like a year from now I will have to be pryed away from my computer with something akin to a crowbar or C4.
