After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain.  I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain.  If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.

Please update your bookmarks and be sure to visit the new and improved Ninjalane at Hardwareasylum.com

    AMD Press Conference

On June 1st AMD announced several new processors in a lavish press conference held at the New York New York. The conference was actually very enjoyable and was presented in a non-technical way to many semi-technical people. (aka reporters)
The show was complete with multi colored lights and fancy laser effects though I wasn't too impressed with the fog machine since it made the room very humid and a little smelly.
Many of the AMD launch partners had products on display, though none of them seemed to be retail samples.
Two American execs were on hand to answer questions, Dirk, on the left, is the Executive Vice President of Computation. He talked about many of the technical aspects of the new AMD Athlon64. Henri, on the right, is the Executive Vice President of worldwide sales and marketing his keynote speech was rather dull but he kept making funny faces when things during his speech went "wrong".
A Microsoft executive, Jimmy Chen, was on hand to talk about WindowsXP SP2. He appeared to be a little nervous but spoke in very good English.
The conference was concluded with the assembly of an Athlon64 partner puzzle. It looked rather cool in person though didn't photograph very well, especially when others would stand up during the exposure.
