DDR: The Disappointment?

Viahardware posted an article on DDR and how it isn't really the greatest memory platform when used on a motherboard. You can see by the Freeway FWD-P3C4XD review that when the FSB is over clocked to 160Mhz the memory performance was equal to that of a Dual 1Ghz Pentium on a i840 board without using DDR memory. Until processor mfg. Increase the default FSB I do not believe we will see any huge gains in memory performance between SDRAM and DDR.
Now DDR on video cards, that is a different story. Quake3 in high res. is the only way to frag.
