Personally I think it makes more sense to run Linux on a Dreamcast but to each their own.

  • ICQ Vulnerable to Attack

Published: Monday, March 25, 2002 | By: Dennis

A little but of news clean up here, I know a lot of you still use ICQ despite the growing number of webcam and pr0n invites going out. The official word comes from here. The hole only seems to effect the "ICQ Voice Video & Games feature for versions earlier than 2001b." So those people who want to use the older, simpler, and banner-ad free version (like me! wink smile apparently can continue to do so as long as you don't use that feature. (Fortunately, there are sites such as http://www.spoutnic.com/icq/archive.asp that keep old versions of ICQ for just such occasions...)

  • Pentium 4 1.6aGHz @ 2.5GHz @ GideonTech

This little processor is hitting big with the overclockers and with 800-900+MHz overclocks you can see why.

I would also like to add that I am very glad GideonTech doesn't do video reviews. big grin smileshock smile

  • More Downtime

Published: Saturday, March 23, 2002 | By: Dennis

Once again ninjalane.com was down, sorry bout that, since I shouldn't ever have to say sorry for the site being down or server not working I am once again looking for a new hosting provider. The move won't happen for a few days so please bare with me. During that time we can only hope for no further downtime but considering past experience I'll give it about 20 hours before the server blows up again.

  • Crucial DDR333 Review @ PC PowerZone

Published: Friday, March 22, 2002 | By: Dennis

Ok now I'm pissed some guy in the UK gets to review an engineering sample of Crucial memory and I don't get anything, despite living no more than 45min away from the Micron Headquarters and less than 20min away from the US distributor of Crucial.com angry smile

  • Micron in the DDR400 market

Published: Friday, March 22, 2002 | By: Dennis

Micron has had DDR333 chips for quite some time now but only sold them as DDR266 parts. Its good to hear they are deciding to kick things into gear and jump on the DDR400 wagon despite the lack of a DDR400 spec.

  • Micron Conversion to 300mm Wafers

Published: Friday, March 22, 2002 | By: Dennis

The only reason I mentioned this tid bit of news was because I actually worked on the drawings for the Micron Lehi building mentioned in the news post. Its a really nice facility but also really expensive to build.

  • Fugly Blue Ninjalane.com Page

Published: Friday, March 22, 2002 | By: Dennis

This isn't related to the blue theme page but rather a DNS problem by my hosting provider. The situation should now be resolved but if not don't be scared just wait about 20min and try again.

  • iMac and Quanta

Published: Friday, March 22, 2002 | By: Dennis

Most of you probably don't know much about the Quanta Company so here is a little background. Quanta is a sister company related to Freeway that does manufacturing. When Freeway comes up with a motherboard design Quanta builds it (not that Freeway has made motherboards lately). The fun doesn't stop there either Quanta will also build things for other companies including but not limited to Apple iMac's, rack mounted servers, LCD screens, etc... I guess the new iMac was/is complicated to build which had an effect on revenues.
