After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain.  I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain.  If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.

Please update your bookmarks and be sure to visit the new and improved Ninjalane at Hardwareasylum.com

    Hard Drive Cage

A great feature found on the Centurion 590 is this removable hard drive cage.  Typically hard drive cages are a separate part of your standard computer case and while often removable they seem to always be located under the 5.25 bays at the bottom of the case.

Given the “stacker” nature of the Centurion 590 there are no dedicated 3.5” drive bays for hard drives and such.  Cooler Master’s solution to this is to combine the traditional hard drive cage with 5.25 drive rails and create a removable hard drive rack that can be placed anywhere along the stack.
The new removable cage will hold up to 4 HDDs in a standard configuration and comes with rubber vibration dampers at each of the mounting points.  For additional cooling Cooler Master has included a single 120mm clear LED lighted fan and mounted it directly to the front.
The fan will move 45cfm at 1000rpm and happens to be quieter than most cpu coolers @17dB.
