After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain. I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain. If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.

Cooler Master HAF 922 Case Review

Case Cooling System
The HAF 922 comes with two large 200mm fans that move a ton of air through the case. The first fan is located at the front of the case behind the bold Cooler Master badge. This fan is the intake fan made to bring in the fresh air into the HAF 922.
The other 200mm fan is located at the very top of the case, this fan is one of two exhaust fans on the HAF 922. The vent mesh is a very low restriction honeycomb that limits fan noise that may occur during operation. The additional bonus of a top mounted "blow hole" is that even when the fan isn't running you are cooling your case due to natural convention currents.
The other exhaust fan mentioned is a 120mm unit located at the very back of the case in the traditional location. This fans main job is to move the hot air away from the CPU and Northbridge heatsinks.
The HAF 922 being a great case for air cooling and will take advantage of a tower style cooler in either position. The roomy interior is also well suited for oversized heatsinks such as the CM V10 shown here.
One thing Cooler Master did with the HAF 932 was allow for water cooling to be installed with no additional modifications. The HAF 922 follows these same lines with a few minor changes. The top fan mount will allow for a 2 x 120mm radiator however there is no included fill port.
HAF 922 is every bit for the water cooling crowd, but also keeps a lot of options available for the modding community. This was something that Cooler Master seems to have revisited after the HAF932 launch. Of course ever modder has an unique idea, ours usually center around watercooling options and making our custom cooling gear fit, your idea will likely vary so let those design ideas flow.
