After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain.  I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain.  If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.

Please update your bookmarks and be sure to visit the new and improved Ninjalane at Hardwareasylum.com

    Introduction

At the lowest level a computer case is a way for you to keep all of your computer gear together and protected.  The basic design of the computer case has not changed much over the years however in today's world there are many different things a computer is used for.  Some require a small case and others require a large chassis with room to spare.  Sadly not all manufactures would agree and some of the biggest names in the business have left many of these design ideas on the ground a long time ago.

Cooler Master is one of those companies that is famous for innovation and is responsible for the Stacker case that changed the overall look of computer cases in general. The Stacker sported a open mesh front panel that allowed many different combinations of 3.5 inch and 5.25 inch drives all along the front of the case.

Well that moment in time seems to be over. The Stacker style case will continue to live on forever, but many manufactures are moving into a different direction and Cooler Master is trying to get ahead of the pack with the new HAF 932.

The acronym HAF stands for High Air Flow. As we take a closer look you will see that while the case may imply “Air” it really is more of a dual purpose case with specific features designed just for water cooling.
    First Impressions
First Impressions are the lasting ones. Still you cannot always judge a book by its cover, and the Cooler Master HAF 932 is one of these situations. Most people will either love the look, or just down right hate it. Still once you get past the “Mad Max” aesthetics of hardline cages and mesh over every opening you will begin to start respecting what the HAF 932 has to offer including the incredible airflow from 3 x 230mm fans and 1 x 140mm fan on the rear.

The HAF 932 is made of mainly steel with some mesh, and plastic. The steel is what accounts for the weight being close to 29 pounds. With a black paint job, and mesh all over it. You can get the idea that this is going to be a jaw dropper of a case at LAN Parties however the additional weight might make hauling the case around a little difficult but, we know most of you guys will do it anyway.

A new etching process was used to create the unique case finish and glossy HAF logo and while it may look like a sticker or stencil it is 100 time more durable.
On the other side of this case you will find a stamped metal panel with a giant X in the lower quadrant.  Next to this is a large exhaust vent for the HDD rack.

The HAF 932 is a  nicely designedcomputer case with a very respecitable set of measurements W9.0" x H21.5" x D22.7". For more specific details on the HAF932 please consult the Cooler Master website.
