After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain.  I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain.  If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.

Please update your bookmarks and be sure to visit the new and improved Ninjalane at Hardwareasylum.com

    Case Construction

The Thermaltake M9 is constructed from SECC steel which makes it very strong and a good candidate for any modding project.
All of the sharp edges have been rolled over for additional strength and safety.  There are a variety of different connection points in the M9 and all are secured with alu pop rivets or a reinforced finger style joint.  You can see one where the motherboard tray meets the back reinforcement bar.

At first look it would appear this tray can be removed but after further inspection it would seem the panel has been fully secured with more pop rivets.
Ever wondered how to tell if your case is constructed from SECC steel??
Simple, just look at the panel color, the light grey coating you see is unique to SECC cases while the other guys use metal that is shiny and almost mirror like.
