After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain.  I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain.  If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.

Please update your bookmarks and be sure to visit the new and improved Ninjalane at Hardwareasylum.com

    Installation

The mounting hardware included with this kit is top quality. They have definitely given some thought to its design and implementation. The kit comes with separate mounts for each socket type that wrap around the main waterblock and pump assembly.

On a related note I would advise leaving the adhesive covered when installing as 3M makes such good tape they sometimes become almost impossible to remove without damaging something.
Mounting the kit requires that you remove motherboard to install the backplate.  This is actually the most involved part of the installation but should not be a problem for the typical user.
When installing the mounts you simply leave the top frame loose and remount the motherboard. Next you can mount the radiator and fan combo followed by the CPU block.  Installing the CPU block is accomplished by simply placing the block pump combo in the frame and rotating slightly to lock it under the flanges.  Next tighten the screws and plug in the two leads for power.

The entire process should take less than 20 minutes.
