After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain. I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain. If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.

Thermaltake Toughpower 1000Watt Power Supply Review

Conclusion
After using the Thermaltake Toughpower 1000w PSU for a couple of weeks I can say without reservation that this is the best power supply to cross my desk. Quite simply it can handle anything I threw at it. It showed no sign of being pushed during any of the testing in fact I had several Multi meters hooked up for days and never saw any droop under load. Actually under load the rails never drooped below 12v.
As I stated earlier we do not have any PSU loading equipment so instead are reviewing this from the perspective of a customer bringing this PSU and using it for their own PC project. A quick Google search will give you all the charts and graphs you could ever want but numbers are only half the story. After all the best reviews mean nothing if the product is so loud it keeps the neighbors up, or winds up in your closet because you don't like some aspect of it.
In all of these product reviews I actually use the parts in my daily rig I find by doing this any weaknesses will eventually surface along with any other small annoyances, I am happy to report that the Thermaltake Toughpower 1000w it excelled in all of the areas i consider important, it is very quiet, runs surprisingly cool, has almost infinite power, extremely high efficiency and to top it all off looks great.
And now the ever popular lists of good things and bad things.
