After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain.  I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain.  If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.

Please update your bookmarks and be sure to visit the new and improved Ninjalane at Hardwareasylum.com

    Card Layout & Features

The new EVGA GTX550 Ti FPB is completely based around the reference design with only a few cosmetic changes. Reference design cards are not a bad thing, in fact they are quite common, and considering how well the board design overclocks we don't think anyone will mind.
The back of the card is completely exposed much like the reference card and there is no indication that a backplate will be offered.
The video output is made up of 2 x DVI and a mini-HDMI digital output that has a dongle for connecting to a standard HDMI connection. HDMI does carry audio signal through a built in sound chip on the GTX550Ti .
SLI is limited on the GTX 550 Ti to a maximum of two cards due to the single SLI bridge connection. We saw this become a standard on the GTX 460 with obviously no change in agenda.
