After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain.  I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain.  If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.

Please update your bookmarks and be sure to visit the new and improved Ninjalane at Hardwareasylum.com

    Unreal Tournament 3

Unreal Tournament 3 is a game set sometime in the future that is all about killing. There's no real storyline or singleplayer mode. What UT3 lacks in story, it makes up for in an all-around great gaming experience. The multiplayer is second to none and happens to be a great LAN Party game.
For benchmarking, all graphics settings were turned up to the highest setting. V-Sync and SmoothFrames was disabled to get the maximum gaming frames per second. Post-processing was turned up to intense for a super awesome gaming experience. The level used for the benchmarks is CarbonFire which is loaded with fun loving bots with great one liner comments.
The EVGA GTX560 Ti SC is quite the animal towards DirectX 9 games and with the additional overclock shows us how much more power is still available.  A single EVGA GTX560 Ti SC pulling numbers close to the SLI setups in UT3 which tells us that either the title is no longer SLI friendly or that our cards just happen to be topping out at the lower resolutions.

As with other benchmarks the GTX 560 Ti SC has come out on top in all instances.
