After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain.  I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain.  If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.

Please update your bookmarks and be sure to visit the new and improved Ninjalane at Hardwareasylum.com

    Introduction

One of the newest HD 5000 series GPUs to be released is the Radeon HD 5750.  This new GPU is very similar to the Radeon HD 5770, yet features only 720 stream processors and a lower overall GPU clockspeed.

In this review we will be looking at a new card from Gigabyte called the GV-R575SL-1GI. Unlike traditional video cards with heatsink and fan combo this Radeon HD5750 comes completely silent and passively cooled.  Gigabyte calls this passive cooler a Silent-Cell and is part of an effort to lower noise and increase product life by removing the parts that tend to fail over time.

Of course you need a special GPU to make this work, so let's take a look and see what the HG 5750 has to offer.
