After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain.  I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain.  If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.

Please update your bookmarks and be sure to visit the new and improved Ninjalane at Hardwareasylum.com

    DFI

The people at DFI were extremely nice as usual and gladly showed their new line of LanParty and Infinity Dark series of products.  Readers of Ninjalane will recognize the 680i board however the others are very new.  These would include the X38 and P35 Intel boards supporting 1333Mhz FSB.
One thing that is very interesting about Computex is that we all get to see the hardware even before its officially released or in some cases announced.  Because of this you will find that many of the products on display are not finished and done actually on purpose so the competition cannot copy their designs and/or make them better.

    Case in point...
DFI is still very active in the OEM market and makes a variety of "other" products that we rarely see including this motherboard designed for embedded computing.
Running demos have become very popular at all of the booths, in most cases you cannot interact with the systems but you can get an idea as to what works well in certain instances.

ATI released their 2900XT not to long ago and claims that is is a perfect match for running on the DFI ICFX motherboard.  It would seem that the board was released on time but the videocard didn't come until a year later, so while the board has been around for awhile the combination is quite fresh.
