Computex 2008 Day 1

Introduction
Well its showtime again here in Taiwan and that means one thing, the annual Computex trade show. Computex is the biggest information technology trade show in Asia and happens to be the only "major" tradeshow that has actually grown consistently over the years.
The landscape here has changed slightly, for instance In previous years the Computex show was split between the 4 Halls at the TWTC (Taiwan World Trade Center). However due to rapid growth Hall 2 has been dropped in favor of a new Exhibition Hall called Nangang. Nangang currently consists of 2 exhibition floors and is located almost 30min from the TWTC Exhibition Hall, this of course this creates some unique scheduling issues but luckily that is not an issue for us.
For Computex Day 1 we spent the majority of our time in Hall 1 and 4 along with a quick meeting at Corsair who had a suite in the Grand Hyatt.
Despite the rapid growth in both exhibits and projected attendance we really had no trouble getting around the show floor. In past years Hall 1 was extremely busy, so much in fact that it was difficult to move around. It will be interesting to see actual attendance numbers but we suspect that either actual attendance is down or just more spread out due to the differing locations.

Hall 1 is one of the more interesting places to visit since it offers you a unique vantage point high above the booth level. It’s rather enjoyable to survey the landscape, only to get lost in a sea of booths once you start walking around.
