After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain.  I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain.  If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.

Please update your bookmarks and be sure to visit the new and improved Ninjalane at Hardwareasylum.com

    Keyboard Layout and Features Cont.

Gigabyte has added the normal channels on the back of the Aivia K8100 in order to route the seriously thick cotton cable from the back of the keyboard. The cable is not removable from the keyboard, but it is truly a thick and sturdy cotton braided cable that is very pliable and easy to work with.
The Aivia K8100 is USB 2.0 device with a gold plated connector for the best contact to the system it is connected to. Let's hope the motherboard maker is using gold plating as well to offer the best connection.
The Aivia K8100 comes with two USB 2.0 slots at each end of the keyboard for adding more USB items on the fly.
Gigabyte not only packs features into the new Aivia K8100, but also includes a few.  The first is a handy silicon keyboard protector that is such an awesome item for anyone that hates germs or dust. The silicon cover works like other keyboard protectors, some people like them, and some do not.  It does not feel too bad, and is easy to read when the keys are lighted.
Gigabyte also packs replacement rubber W,A,S,D keys to trade out for better grip while gaming.
