After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain.  I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain.  If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.

Please update your bookmarks and be sure to visit the new and improved Ninjalane at Hardwareasylum.com

    Conclusion

Working with a keyboard is a very subjective thing and to say it is the greatest gaming keyboard ever may not always be true for everyone.  The Gigabyte Aivia K8100 is all about gaming with very little effort towards normal everyday usage.

The keyboard is incredible for gaming and responds very well with all the right pressure to get the job done. The height of the keys does play a factor in having the right amount of force for gaming with quick FPS movements.  Overall the Aivia K8100 did have a better feel than the Logitech G Series keyboards over a long gaming session with less fatigue in the fingers and wrists.

Moving into the everyday use and typing a review on it makes for a different animal all together. With certain keys needing more pressure than other to register the keystroke makes for some real frustration, but it is something you could get used to. Over time the Aivia K8100 grows on the user as a great overall keyboard with some minor issues.

Does this keyboard replace the G15 for gaming and everyday use? That is up to the user, but for me it will not take the G15 place. The Gigabyte Aivia K8100 will in fact replace one of my favorite older Saitek Eclipse II keyboards, and that speaks volumes from me.

The Ghost software is easy to use and perfect for the WoW player and the fast responsiveness is everything a twitch FPS would ever want. The only glowing problem is the horrible light switch placement which does not end the world for anyone, but it is very inconvenient to find in a dark room.
