After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain. I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain. If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.

Abit KT7E Motherboard Review

Normally we wouldn't do a review on a motherboard such as this though we felt it deserved a little attention since this board is
the cheap of the cheap and built how motherboards used to be built. The KT7e is actually a trimmed down version of its bigger
brothers in the KT7 series including the KT7, KT7A, KT7-Raid, and KT7A-Raid. Not much is known about the VIA KT133E chipset, Though
with a quick search of VIA's site the information was clear. The KT133E is infact very similar to the KT133 if not the same chip.
Chipset specs can be found here. It would
seem that the 133 only applies to PC133 memory support since the only processors supported are of the 100MHz FSB variety. A listing
of the VIA chipset solutions can be found at the VIA Arena.
I am not going to go into that much depth or detail in this review considering the limitations of the motherboard but I
will make some comments when needed. Nothing really special about this boards layout, Abit choose to wrap the PCB in a nice soft blue
color making a perfect match for just about any Hercules product. I compared the color and they are almost identical.
