After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain. I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain. If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.

DFI LanParty Jr P45 T2RS Motherboard Review

Board Layout and Features
DFI P45 T2RS is a 4 layer MicroATX motherboard measuring just 9.6 inches (24.5cm)square. But don't let it's small size fool you, like the box says "Looks small, Frag more!".
This board brings a welcome addition to the enthusiast motherboard line-up and is especially designed for small "LAN party" type cases. The enthusiast power means you will no longer need to use an inferior rig or lug a heavy system around to the local Fragfests. The size and features also lends itself well to a HTPC environment. Lastly, don’t forget about the everyday pc, just because something is small doesn’t mean its not good..
The board layout is done extremely well with dual card spacing between the 2 PCI-E slots. This allows for single and dual slot video coolers. The board also comes with a single standard PCI as well as a 1X PCI-E slot which make up the 4 slots allocated by the MicroATX form factor.

The first PCI-E slot puts longer cards uncomfortably close to the ram slots making changing ram with a card installed a difficult task.
On the lower portion of the boards you will notice that DFI has installed their standard EZ power and reset buttons, I find this a very nice feature and am pleased to see they found room for them on such a small board.
I just wish they had found a space for the debug post code display found on LT and UT motherboards, even the 790GX Jr has one

This board does come with a soldered bios chip preventing you from simply swapping chips to revive a corrupted board, while this won't happen very often there does appear to be a header for E-PROM flashing nearby.
