After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain.  I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain.  If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.

Please update your bookmarks and be sure to visit the new and improved Ninjalane at Hardwareasylum.com

    Benchmarks - Synthetic

    SiSoft Sandra
Sandra is a collection of synthetic benchmarks that will give us a basic idea as to what a system is capable of. It should be noted that SiSoft numbers change depending on what version you have installed, these where recorded using Sandra Professional Version 2002.6.8.97
Despite the wide range of memory settings in the bios (CAS 1,2,2.5,3,3.5 Freq, 266,333,400) you can't really squeeze any more bandwidth out of a saturated system bus stuck at 266MHz. I am concerned with the lower than expected memory scores though.

I should mention that the SL-75FRV ran perfectly with the memory clock set to 400MHz, CAS2, 4-way interleave, 1T Ultra using Corsair XMS2700 DDR333 memory.
    Cachemem
Cachemem is a synthetic benchmark used to test bandwidth and latency.
We kind of have a mixed bag of scores here, The SL-75FRV is running the faster processor and WindowsXP yet still benchmarked with lower memory scores than the reference system. For all intents and purposes the memory scores are basically the same though I suspect there might be a timing issue with the memory controller or the SPD setting of my ram.
