After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain. I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain. If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.
Please update your bookmarks and be sure to visit the new and improved Ninjalane at Hardwareasylum.com

Benchmarks - Overclocked
Overclocking
The overclocking gods were not smiling on me, or something, when it came to overclocking the Soltek SL-K8AN2E-GR. It would seem that no matter what I did the board would not post any higher than 210Mhz. Knowing that this processor will run well above 230Mhz I can only attribute my failures to a buggy beta BIOS or adverse consequences related to that time I didn't plug the fan in and decided to encode a movie. (Yes it got really hot and even started smelling quite bad)
Overclocking on this motherboard will be revisited in the future though the results will most likely be posted in another article.
