After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain. I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain. If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.
Please update your bookmarks and be sure to visit the new and improved Ninjalane at Hardwareasylum.com

Performance - HD Tune - PassMark
Now we will switch over to some charts and see how this SSD compares to other drives in our testing suite. The drives tested were all done on our default system specs and repeated for consistency.
HD Tune pro is up first and is one of the few benches that will return extremely consistent and reliable results. We will be focusing on average read and access times.

HD Tune Pro
The OCZ Vertex 2 definitely showed its speed here besting even the SSD Raid 0 array. You may notice the .1ms access times being so small that they don't even show up on the chart. The same thing occurs in some benches which simply have a flat line at the bottom of the graph.
PassMark 7
Passmark 7.0 is a full system suite benchmarking and information utility. It has a wide variety of options and can gather a very thorough report about your systems hardware. With several benchmarking sections we are able to select the disk suite separately from the full bench.
Our results showed that the Raid 0 array did well here but the OCZ was far ahead of the other rotational drives.
