After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain. I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain. If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.

OCZ Vertex 2 60GB SSD Review
Author: Jim Manis
Published: Tuesday, October 05, 2010
Conclusion
SSDs have really come a long way over their short existence. From the meager 60MB/s reads to the 285MB/s read bandwidth found on the Vertex 2 you can see how the new Sandforce 1200 controller has improved SSD performance over SATA3. I can only imagine what the SATA6 standard will bring in terms of performance in the next couple years.
If you waited for right time to jump on the SSD bandwagon, waiting for prices and speeds to improve has finally paid off. Today's OCZ Vertex 2 series has made it affordable for anyone to really boost their day to day computer experience.
Now for the ever popular list of Good things and Bad things.
