After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain. I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain. If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.
Please update your bookmarks and be sure to visit the new and improved Ninjalane at Hardwareasylum.com
QNAP TS-219P NAS Review

Product Design and Features Cont.
Normally with NAS units like this we like to tear them down so we can show you what makes them tick, however with the 219P the solid construction prevented us from removing more than the outer aluminum case cover. Inside you'll see the circuit board and fan. The metal box is what holds the hotswap drive bays.
As you can imagine there is really no need to open the TS-219P, there are no serviceable parts inside but who doesn't enjoy taking stuff apart to see how it works.
Included Goodies
Included you will get what you see here. Network cable, manuals, screw pack, and required software. The power connector is your standard 12v power transformer
The TS-219P is network configurable meaning that you have to install the QNAP software to install and configure the NAS. Once everything has been setup you can access the NAS via the included web interface and do the final configuration.
