EVGA GTX 460 SuperClocked 1GB Video Card Review

Factory overclocking has its advantage, not only do you get better performance out of the box but you are more likely to get a GPU that has passed the binning process with better results.  Of course you always run the risk that your factory overclocked card is also maxed out.  All of this depends on the core limits of the GPU and the skills of the tuner at the factory.

After using the EVGA software it was clear we needed to see just how far we could push this card, and the results may surprise you.

The EVGA GTX 460 1GB SC was able to be pushed to a fully tested stable 850MHz core and 1000MHz Memory speed (4000MHz effectively).  We were able to push the GPU further however the EVGA OC Scanner software found glitches every time.

Unreal tournament always show us if we are getting any return for our overclocking. Across all of the resolutions we see some good 10+ FPS jump in performance.

Performance jumps are not always noticed in an average framerate number.  Here we see some rather static numbers at the higher resolutions and is not until we hit 1680 x 1050 that we see the actual overclock take over.
